Covington & Burling is poised to add energy attorney William Massey as a partner to its Washington office. His practice will be focused on energy-related regulatory and legislative matters.
Massey has been resident Commissioner on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for the past 10 years, and in the late 1990’s served as lead Commissioner on merger policy during a period of consolidation within the gas and electric industries. He has extensive experience testifying before Congressional committees and has addressed numerous energy policy conferences both in the US and abroad.
Massey’s arrival follows two other recent additions to the firm’s energy and legislative practices. Marty Gold is a former legislative counsel to the US Senate and Bob Fleishman is a former general counsel of Constellation Energy Group.
