Mishcon de Reya is to hire two legal apprentices in an attempt to increase the diversity of its future pool of lawyers.
The pilot scheme will see school-leavers take the CILEx Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Legal Services. They will work within the firm’s real estate team and private client teams, swapping between the two during the course of their training. If successful, the pilot may then be extended across all departments.
Mishcon’s director of human resources Vanessa Dewhurst said: “We see our apprenticeship scheme as an excellent way of recruiting and training talented and ambitious individuals, and are keen to interview people who may not previously have considered applying to join us.
We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who received their A level results this week, and who may view this opportunity as an alternative to university”.
Meanwhile, South East firm Morrisons Solicitors has also announced that it is to recruit a legal apprentice for its Camberley office.
