Field Fisher Waterhouse has employed five apprentices, following the launch of its in-house academy Step2Success (9 May 2013).
The first five post A-level students, Jamie Green, Damilola Muyi-Opaleye, Tobi Bello, Frankie Smith and Kieran Bennett, will work within the employment and pensions, IP protection, personal injury and medical negligence, public regulatory and real estate departments of the City firm.
Half a day per week will be dedicated to studying for CILEx’s Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice and after five years the recruits would be able to qualify as solicitors through CILEx.
Field Fisher Waterhouse managing partner Michael Chissick said: “The Step2Success programme provides students with an alternative career path into the legal industry, at a time when the cost of university is precluding many from following the traditional path.
“It also benefits us as a firm, ensuring that we don’t miss out on bright, talented individuals who might otherwise choose another career. We are delighted to be welcoming Jamie, Damilola, Tobi, Frankie and Kieran to the firm and wish them every success.”
