  • The worst part is the majority of the BVC providers want a deposit of at least £500 in advance.

  • The cost of the Bar Vocational Course is being used to prevent working class students from becoming Barristers in the U.K.

    If we really want a level playing field, a liveable grant should be available to all students on the course.

    Yet the inequalities of twenty years ago are still alive and well today.

    We thankfully have far more women qualifying as Barristers, but working class people are woefully under-represented at the Bar.

    One third of all Barristers completing their pupillage will come from just two Universities...surprise surprise, Oxford and Cambridge!

    Being the 'right kind of chap', is still the most important factor in becoming a Barrister...shame.
