The Law Society has finally arrived at a solution on the fraught question of corporate pensions after spending 18 months examining the issue. In a move which is likely to be followed by other pensions regulators, it defines corporate pensions as including all types of company scheme, including SIPPs. Those looking to advise on such pensions will now have to have an Advanced Financial Planning Certificate from mid- 1996. "The Law Society says there are certain types of pension that require additional expertise. It is showing the way and breaking new ground with this," said Solicitors for Independent Financial Advice spokesman Ian Muirhead.
