Clifford Chance (Mark Carroll) assisted investment products provider Man Group on acquiring a 25 per cent stake in BlueCrest Capital Management. The £105m deal consists of £33m in cash funded from existing resources and approximately five million new ordinary shares. Simmons & Simmons (Colin Leaver) advised BlueCrest.
Burges Salmon (Jennifer Handler) acted for engineering group Kirloskar Brothers in the acquisition of SPP Pumps from Thyssen-Bornemisza. Macfarlanes (John Dodsworth) represented pump retailer SPP in the £7m deal.

Linklaters (Simon Davies) represented Hanny Holdings in a $39.9m (£23.1m) sale of a 35 per cent interest in Memorex Holdings to Investor Capital Partners Asia Fund. The buyer, a subsidiary of Investor AB, holds an option to purchase an additional 20 per cent for $26.9m (£15.6m) within the next three years. Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer advised Investor Capital.
