Dewey Ballantine (Morton Pierce, Douglas Getter) is representing Zimmer Holdings on its potential $3.2bn (£1.9bn) cash and stock bid to acquire Switzerland-based medical devices company Centrepulse, which is being advised by Weil Gotshal & Manges.
Pinsent Curtis Biddle (Paul Johnson) acted for Sandy Chadha, the managing director of Supreme Imports, in a £16.1m management buyout of the business from other shareholders, backed by Sand Aire Private Equity and Lloyds TSB Acquisition Finance. Sand Aire was advised by Hammonds, with the management team advised by Beachcroft Wansbroughs.
Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw (Stephen Bottomley) acted for the Waste Recycling Group on its proposed acquisition by Cholet Acquisitions, a company formed by Terra Firma Investments, for £530.9m. Terra Firma was represented by Slaughter and May.
Nabarro Nathanson (Glyn Taylor) advised Sondex on its flotation, the first Official List flotation of 2003, with a market capitalisation of £38.8m. Travers Smith Braithwaite acted for sponsor, financial adviser and broker Collins Stewart.
