Manches is helping Condé Nast Publications acquire six titles from the Daily Mail & General Trust. Johansens Guides, which offers global hotel and leisure recommendations, will be known as Condé Nast Johansens from 2003. It will become part of the international group Advance Magazine Publishing, which also owns Vogue, Tatler, GQ and The New Yorker. Matthew Martin, Manches corporate and technology partner, led the takeover team which included commercial and intellectual property partners Peter Stevens and John Rubinstein. Work began in July with an auction of the titles. More than two bidders took part. Martin presented a negotiating agreement and initial comments. Hewitson Becke + Shaw's company and commercial partner Elizabeth Davies led the team advising the Daily Mail & General Trust.
