Computer litigation group talk

New Court Chambers has set up a computer litigation practice group to increase expertise in this growing area.

The chambers has several practice groups covering different areas of law which allow barristers to share their experiences and expertise and to organise events for their clients.

The group comprises nine tenants with experience in computer dispute litigation.

Louise Seaton, client care and marketing manager, said: "More and more people are aware of the fact that the system they buy may not live up to expectations. People realise they need to get more clued-up."

The group is holding an introductory seminar for solicitors covering the basics of computer contracts, remedies and handling disputes.

Group member Peter Susman said: "Some skilled commercial litigators have a fear of computers and computer litigation. This seminar will reassure them and explain why computers and computer litigation should not be feared."
