National firm Cobbetts has won an instruction to act for the administrators of retailer Sock Shop.
Birmingham-based insolvency practitioners Poppleton & Appleby have been appointed administrators to the Sock Shop chain.
Sock Shop is on its third administration since it was set up in the 1980s and it now only has 13 stores compared to 140 in its heyday. Administrator Andrew Turpin has opted to keep the shops open with a view to selling them as a going concern.
Its current owner, Harris Watson Holdings, bought the franchise for in 2003 for £3.49m from retail company Facia.
