Manchester firm Cobbetts has re-elected managing partner Michael Shaw for a third term of office.
His present term finishes in 2002 but the partners have chosen to re-elect him early for a term of office lasting until April 2005. Shaw has been a partner with the firm since 1984. During his five years as managing partner Cobbetts has experienced 115 per cent growth. He was responsible for the firm's merger with the majority of partners and support staff from Slater Heelis. Shaw has remodelled the firm's organisational structure, moving from traditional departments to a system of two focused divisional teams. He has implemented a system of transparent management and a solicitor's home working scheme. Commenting on his re-election, Shaw said: "Cobbetts has enjoyed an outstanding five years due to the combined efforts of the outstanding personnel we have here at all levels." The firm is placed in the top quartile of North West firms.
