CMS Cameron McKenna and its Slovakian ally Law Office Ruzicka are competing together for their first government privatisation role after cementing their association earlier this year.
The firms worked together for around 18 months before formalising their relationship in July. CMS’s Austrian member CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz also works closely with the Slovak firm, which is not a formal member of the nine-strong CMS network.
The association is now vying with six other firms to advise the Slovakian government on the privatisation of the freight division of Slovak Railways.
The alliance has already seen Camerons and Ruzicka advise Deutsche Bank’s real estate opportunities fund on the &eoro;30m (£20.6m) development of a retail park in Nitra. They are also advising Warner Brothers on Harry Potter IP infringements in Slovakia.
