Clyde & Co has unveiled its first promotions round since its takeover of Barlow Lyde & Gilbert (BLG) at the end of 2011, with the bulk of its 14 new partners coming from the legacy Clydes side of the tie-up.

Peter Hasson
Of the 14 promotions three are based in the UK, with former BLG associates Laura Cooke and Michelle Crorie being taken into the fold while Clydes’ Oxford-based operations director James Taylor has also been promoted.
The firm’s Middle East base has received the largest boost with four promoted in Dubai while Abu Dhabi and Doha have received one each.
Asia, meanwhile, has received three new partners and in the US the firm’s bases in San Francisco and New York added one apiece.
Clydes chief executive Peter Hasson said: “The promotions, which fully reflect all regions within the firm, are a testament to our international development programme.”
The combined 14 promotions are down on last year’s bumper round of nine each for Clydes (5 May 2011) and BLG (6 May 2011).
The firm has also promoted four partners into its senior equity partnership, with insurance specialists Steve Kennedy and Ned Kirk made up in New York while at home corporate partners Simon Vere-Nicoll and Mark Williamson, who split their time between London and Guildford, have been promoted.
The new partners are:
Asia

Heartily endorse the comment above. Jim's elevation is thoroughly deserved. One of the nicest people you are ever likely to meet, as well as being a damn good lawyer.

I can personally vouch for the fact that that Jim's talents as a lawyer are only exceeded by his exceptional beauty

Congratulations to Jim Taylor on his richly deserved promotion. It's a shame the same cannot be said of West Ham.

Well done, Dick Bell in Abu Dhabi. This is richly deserved, and I'm sure a few lemonades will be had in celebration.
