Clydes captures Holman partner for Asia push

Clyde & Co has boosted the number of lawyers in its Singapore office to 10 with the hire of Holman Fenwick & Willan partner John Champion.

Champion joins Clyde’s Singapore insurance team along with one assistant, becoming the fourth partner in the small office.

The hire comes less than a year after the firm launched a new Shanghai office to complement its Asian offering.

Champion’s practice covers marine, energy, commercial and industrial insurance and reinsurance litigation.

Singapore-based partner Andrew Bickell said Champion’s arrival came after a period of development in the region, and during an “exciting time” for Clyde.

Holman Fenwick & Willan is left with five partners in Singapore.
