Clyde & Co promotions help female partner ratio

Clyde & Co has improved its ratio of female partners by making up two women in its latest round of promotions.

In 2005 the firm brought in no new female partners, either by promotion or lateral hire. However, this year Paris-based construction litigator Clarisse Billot has been promoted to partner, while marine transport partner Hatty Sumption becomes a senior equity partner.

Billot is joined by new partners Andrew Nicholas, who practises marine transport law from the UK, and corporate lawyer Philip O'Riordan, who is based in Dubai. A further four partners are promoted to senior equity, including two in the UK, one in Abu Dhabi and one in Dubai.

As in previous years, Clydes' promotions focus on corporate and commercial work, insurance and litigation.
