Clyde & Co is losing an aviation partner to Barlow Lyde & Gilbert, the department's second departure in less than a year.
Aviation insurance specialist Jeremy Shebson is expected to join Barlows within the next few weeks.
Richard Hames, a senior aviation partner specialising in finance, left earlier in the year, and is believed to have set up his own practice.
Shebson says: "It's a good opportunity at Barlows. It's a well-regarded and well-established aviation practice." He will join a five-partner department there, with an equivalent number of assistants.
Colin Frank, an aviation partner at Clyde & Co, says: "I regard Jeremy as a friend and am sad to see him leave. But he specialises in aviation insurance, and our clients know our aviation capability."
Simon Phippard, an aviation partner at Barlow Lyde, says the firm is planning to add even more lawyers to the department. It has already recruited both a senior and a junior lawyer from Norton Rose and Linklaters & Alliance respectively.
