Clyde & Co is breaking into the US market with offices in New York and Los Angeles and the hire of four partners from US firm Condon & Forsyth.
Partners Diane Westwood Wilson, Christopher Carlsen and Andrew Harakas are establishing Clyde’s New York office, while Kevin Sutherland will be based in Los Angeles.
The team’s expertise focuses principally on aviation litigation, but also covers commercial, insurance and product liability litigation. The practice reflects Clyde’s expertise in the UK, and follows the firm’s merger with aviation boutique Beaumont & Son a year ago.
Senior partner Michael Payton said the move would help the firm’s clients develop US business, and that he expected other US litigators to join Clydes.
Clydes has expanded substantially on the international front during the past year, with new offices in Shanghai and Moscow as well as extra partners being located in Dubai.
