Clifford Chance unveils new Brussels head

Clifford Chance competition lawyer Tony Reeves has been elected as the firm’s new Brussels managing partner.

Reeves, currently head of the firm’s European competition and regulation group in Brussels, will succeed Yves Herinckx, who has been the Brussels managing partner for 14 years.

Herinckx is expected to stand down from his role next month and will continue working in the firm’s banking, capital markets and financial services department in Brussels.

“I think Yves thought it was time for a change and I’m really looking forward to leading the Brussels office,” explained Reeves.

He added that, unlike its competitors in the region, the Clifford Chance Brussels office had grown organically from “only a dozen or so lawyers to around 50”. And he admitted that he would like to build on this trend.

Managing partner David Childs said: “Our Brussels office plays an important role in our network, combining well-respected Belgian law capabilities and market-leading advice on EU matters.   Tony will no doubt bring energy and enthusiasm to continuing to grow both these aspects of our practice, working closely with our talented team of partners and lawyers.”
