Clifford Chance picks up Garrigues' project finance head

Clifford Chance has recruited a Garrigues partner regarded as one of Spain’s leading banking lawyers to its Madrid office.
José Guardo, who has more than 18 years of experience in the Spanish financial and banking sector, joins Clifford Chance as a partner after eight years heading up Garrigues’ project finance team.
He will work alongside Alberto Manzanares, who leads the region’s banking and finance practice.
“José Guardo brings both technical excellence and a pragmatic approach to combating the on-going challenges faced by the sector,” said Manzanares.
“He’s widely respected by financial institutions in our country and, by joining forces, we’ll be able to provide our clients with access to the best team possible for handling the most innovative and demanding mandates on both a national and international scale.”
