Clifford Chance’s offices in New York and Asia have undergone a change of management with the chief operating officer and finance director roles changing hands.
Laurence Porter, the current COO for Clifford Chance in Asia, is moving to New York to take up the same role covering the Americas from 1 January 2006.
Porter has been Asia COO since 1999 and has also been the firm’s project leader in London on the implementation of its global practice management system. He joined Clifford Chance from Barclays Capital
He is replacing Terry Hatchett, who has come to the end of his three year term in the role. Hatchett joined Clifford Chance from the now defunct accountancy firm Arthur Andersen where he worked for 34 years and was the head of its North America operation.
Asia finance director Helen Mackenzie will take up the COO role in the region while Frans Post, Clifford Chance’s finance director in Amsterdam moves to New York from the New Year to take the equivalent job in the Americas.
