Clifford Chance’s Indian best friend AZB & Partners is sending four associates for training at the magic circle firm’s European training centre.
Two junior associates from Mumbai, one from Delhi and one from Bangalore are set to travel to London this month to take courses offered as part of Clifford Chance’s training scheme, according to Indian legal website LegallyIndia.com.
The training centre, which is headquartered in Amsterdam and known as the Academy, is used by all Clifford Chance trainees, who attend courses in both Amsterdam and London. More senior lawyers use the Academy for training courses and to gain CPD points.
The long-term plan is to formalise the training programme so a greater number of AZB lawyers can attend. Initially mostly junior associates will attend courses to improve their international technical legal skills.
According to Clifford Chance partner Chris Wyman AZB is looking at starting its own training scheme that Clifford Chance lawyers would be able to attend while in India.
