Clifford Chance has elected Simon Tinkler as its new London corporate chief after David Pearson completed two terms in the role.
Private equity specialist Tinkler has been a partner at the magic circle firm for 10 years, having joined in 1995. His election was uncontested.
Global corporate chief Matthew Layton said: “David Pearson’s made a tremendous contribution to our success in London during his eight years in the role. Simon’s a highly regarded corporate partner with an excellent track record. I believe he’s demonstrated all the right attributes to lead the continued successful development of the London practice.”
The news follows the recent election of Jonathan Solomon to succeed the retiring Cliff McAuley as London head of real estate. So far this year, the firm has also appointed Jeremy Sandelson as London litigation head and Michael Bates and Robert Lee to jointly lead the City finance department.
