Clifford Chance has appointed Logan Wright as managing partner of its Moscow office, succeeding Jan ter Haar, who has managed the office since 2009.
Wright, a banking and finance specialist, has been elected to serve a four-year term and will be officially appointed to the role effective from 1 January 2013.
Wright has practised in the firm’s Moscow office since 2000 and was promoted to partner there in 2006. He advises both banks and borrowers on a broad range of cross-border financings into Russia and the CIS.
Commenting on Wright’s appointment, outgoing managing partner ter Haar said: “Logan has deep knowledge of the Russian market and the right leadership skills to develop further our existing strong position in the Moscow and the wider Russian market. The breadth of our expertise across practice areas makes us ideally suited to serve both our international and our important local clients in the Russian market. I wish the office and Logan every success”
Wright added: “I look forward to working with the other Moscow partners, and colleagues around our global network, as we continue to reinforce our reputation as the leading international law firm in Russia.”
Clifford Chance was one of the top 10 most mentioned law firms in Moscow according to a survey of in-house counsel in Russia devised by The Lawyer and Russian legal magazine Legal Insight. See survey here.
