Clifford Chance moves partner to Saudi" />Magic circle firm Clifford Chance is relocating Dubai-based partner Mohamed Hamra-Krouha to Saudi Arabia, just days after Herbert Smith announced its tie-up with a Saudi firm.
Clifford Chance has a long-standing relationship with Riyadh firm Al Jadaan & Partners Law Firm, which currently houses eight Clifford Chance lawyers on secondment.
Clifford Chance Dubai managing partner Graham Lovett said: "The firm has a longstanding commitment to Saudi Arabia. This is a very significant economy in the region and our clients are increasingly focused on opportunities there. We see Mohamed's move to Riyadh as being responsive to that demand and also a tangible demonstration that our relationship with Al-Jadaan & Partners Law Firm is going from strength to strength."
Hamra-Krouha joined Clifford Chance in 2001 and was promoted to the banking and projects partnership in the latest promotions round. He specialises in advising sponsors, financiers and governments on projects and project financings and has advised on projects in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and other parts of the Middle East and Africa.
Last week Herbert Smith announced its formal alliance with Saudi Arabian firm Al Ghazzawi Professional Association (GPA). The firm has around 30 lawyers based across its offices in Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam.
