Kirkpatrick & Lockhart is latest recipient of Clifford Chance’s US lawyer exodus, after hiring a securities enforcement and financial services partner.
Michael King is moving to Kirkpatrick from the magic circle’s Washington practice.
During his career King has held a number of high profile positions including spells in the US Department of Justice and the Division of Market Regulation of the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
King is just the latest in an ever-growing line of lawyer departures from Clifford Chance which have in particular blighted its New York office. Other high profile departees from the Washington branch include anti-trust rainmaker Steve Newborn who last year left for Weil Gotshal & Manges.
