In a blow to Clifford Chance, securitisation star Luigi Chessa is leaving the firm just six months after he was appointed as joint managing partner for Italy
The appointment of Chessa with Nick Wrigley had been presented as a solution to the massive upheaval caused by the protracted exit of senior partner Vittorio Grimaldi, four other partners and 26 other lawyers.
Chessa's decision is believed to be for work-life balance reasons. He is expected to join another commercial organisation, but one outside the legal sector.
