Clifford Chance is advising computer retailer Electronics Boutique's buy-out of its rival Game.
Corporate finance partner Adam Signy is leading a team of 12 – including partner in competition law John Osborne and Kate Newly, an associate heading up the banking team – on the u99.2m cash and paper deal.
Gareth Roberts, partner in corporate at Herbert Smith, is leading the team for computer retailer Game, which has had a poor share performance since the start of the year.
Commenting on the size of the Clifford Chance team, Signy says: "In a share and cash deal like this, it involves a lot of financing, documenting and competition issues."
He adds: "The deal will give Electronics Boutique a significant platform when it moves into Europe."
Electronics Boutique's takeover bid coincides with its other rival Dixons' move to sell off its stake in internet service provider Freeserve.
