Nabarro Nathanson is losing one of its up-and-coming corporate talents to venture capital client Benchmark Capital.
Partner Jerome Misso is joining the global early-stage venture capital firm as operating partner for Europe. The role is legal and business related and focuses on structuring and closing deals. The appointment is part of a recruitment drive prompted by the opening of Benchmark's European $750m (£525m) venture capital fund in May 2000. Nabarros senior partner Simon Johnston said the appointment was a fantastic compliment to Misso, who was instrumental in building the firm's technology, media and telecoms venture capital practice. "Obviously, we'll miss his ability as a lawyer," he says, "but this move will consolidate and strengthen our relationship with Benchmark." Benchmark's general partner in London George Coelho said: "We believe that Jerome will bring a new dimension and new ideas to Benchmark and we look forward to deepening our relationship with the firm through his appointment."
