Cleary Gottlieb promotes eight to partnership

Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton has promoted eight lawyers to partner and two to counsel in the firm’s latest round of promotions.

The US firm made up six to partner in its New York office, one in the Rome office and one in Brussels. Two associates were made up to counsel in the New York and Rome offices.

The firm has made the same number of promotions as last year, when eight associates got the nod.

This year bankruptcy, capital markets, corporate and anti-trust all received partner promotions while the two counsel were promoted in the private equity and competition groups.

Cleary is the latest US firm to make promotions this year. Last week (5 November) Wachtell Lipton Rosen & Katz promoted six to the partnership while Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy made up four.
