Clarke Willmott swipes Pinsents property team” />Clarke Willmott has secured the entire Bristol-based real estate practice of Pinsent Masons at the same time as unveiling a record set of financial results.
The firm has claimed a stunning 25 per cent profit per partner rise to £215,000, up from £172,000 the previous year. Turnover also increased by 26 per cent to £33.6m. Turnover at the firm has grown 115 per cent since 2001, when revenues stood at £15.6m.
As first revealed on www.thelawyer.com (25 May), the six-lawyer Pinsents team consists of partners Bonnie Martin, Beverley Pike and Nicola Seager, alongside two senior associates and an assistant lawyer.
Pike was the head of Pinsents’ Bristol commercial property group, Martin specialises in contentious property and development and Seager advises on property development and management issues.
Martin said: “We’re all excited to move to a firm which places property at the very core of its business.”
The group is hoping to join Clarke Willmott by September.
A Pinsents spokesperson said the defections did not affect the firm’s core construction and projects practice in Bristol.
The move comes as Clarke Willmott continues to boost its property presence following this year’s hire of construction and real estate teams from Bristol rival Laytons.
The last year has also seen the firm launch a Birmingham office and scoop the role of sole adviser to HM Customs & Excise on debt recovery matters.
