  • "We want to improve their skills and make them more aligned with the fee earners"

I wonder if their pay will be "aligned" with the fee earners.

  • I think it's a very misguided strategic move to think that secretaries can fulfil a marketing role which is a highly skilled profession in its own right. The problem that I see with law firms is, the business is owned by a X number of partners who all have different views on how the business should be run. If they actually focused on fee earning and building the relationships with clients and left the running of the business to the managing partner/chief executive and heads of support departments, they'd be in a much better position than we currently see.

  • My previous firm tried sending typing work to India- quality was very poor and it didn't last long as a result. It was a complete pain in my opinion.
