Bristol-based Clarke Willmott has raided city rivals for two real estate partners.
Greg Lovett, a real estate partner at the local office of Bevan Brittan, and Oliver Smedley, a real estate associate from Burges Salmon, both join Clarke Willmott as partners.
Clarke Willmott managing partner David Sedgwick said: "Real estate is a core focus for the firm. The firm's sector focus is winning us better-quality work and the market-leading lawyers in that sector."
The hires are the latest wins in an aggressive campaign to expand the firm, in particular in the real estate group, which now numbers more than 100 lawyers and accounts for 30 per cent of total revenue.
Clarke Willmott's Southampton office launched a private client practice last month following a three-partner raid on Southampton-based Moore & Blatch (The Lawyer, 14 May).
The firm also recently hired Shoosmiths associate Jonathan Grigg to head its commercial litigation practice in Southampton (The Lawyer, 14 May). Grigg joined as a partner.
