Rachel Medcraft of Buckinghamshire is suing motorist Keith Hunt who she claims was responsible for the death of her mother. Susan Prosser died after an accident on the B482 road at Stokenchurch on 6 October 1985. The claim alleges the accident was caused by Hunt's negligent driving and is brought under the Fatal Accidents Act 1976 by Rachel through her father, Philip Medcraft.

Wates Construction is suing Citygrove Leisure of Chelsea Harbour Design Centre, London, for £675,000 allegedly due in respect of design development contract Barbican Leisure Park project at Coxside, Plymouth. London-based Wates also seeks damages for alleged breach of agreement and the cost of carrying out remedial work.

Two GPs from Bridgwater, Somerset, are being taken to the High Court accused of negligent antenatal care. Fiona Rossiter of Bridgwater gave birth to a brain damaged baby in 1989 and is now seeking damages against Dr TM Tilsley and Dr JPH Jago, among other things for the doctors' alleged failure to diagnose a condition warranting referral to hospital.

A major refurbishment scheme at 33-35 Cornhill, London EC3, is at the centre of a High Court dispute. Bovis Construction trading as Bovis Lelliott has launched a claim against Poundsbridge Properties for £112,429.88 in respect of work carried out and valued in accordance with a letter of intent by Poundsbridge's quantity surveyors. Alternatively Bovis seeks damages for breach of contract and a quantum meruit. Bovis had submitted a revised tender of £2.5m and claims Poundsbridge failed to pay the amount of the quantity surveyor's valuation.

London Underground is at the centre of a rights of way battle. Jacqueline Smith-Maxwell of Baker Street, London, is suing Watford-based JD Wetherspoon and London Underground, seeking a declaration and damages in respect of a lease dated 29 April 1999 which she claims entitles her and her licensees to rights of way in respect of her premises. She also seeks an injunction restraining the defendants impeding the alleged rights of way.

Kelly Nicholson of Hillingdon, Middlesex, and Craig Nicholson of Solihull, are suing John Rudd of Wimborne, Philip Saunders of Liverpool and David Saunders of Hillingdon, over the estate of the late Maureen Nicholson. Rudd and Philip Saunders are her trustees, and David Saunders claims a legal interest in property at 33 Sedgwick Avenue, Hillingdon. The Nicholsons seek High Court declarations that the property is held on trust for them and David Saunders, and want order for the property to be sold.
