Citigroup executive returns to O’Melveny fold

O’Melveny & Myers has welcomed back Citigroup’s former chief operating officer (COO) as senior partner of its New York office more than a decade after his departure from the firm.

Michael Masin is returning to O’Melveny after taking on a number of high profile executive roles that most recently saw him as vice president and COO at Citigroup.

During his time at the investment bank Masin served on its board of directors and as head of its compensation and governance group.

Masin first joined O’Melveny in 1967 where he was co-head of its international practice before becoming head of its New York office.

After leaving O’Melveny in 1993, Masin became vice chairman and president-international at GTE Corp. Following the company’s merger with Bell Atlantic, Masin served as vice chairman and president of the combined group Verizon Communications.
