What time do you start work each day? Around 8.45 – the train service is usually answerable for anything much later than that.
Firm: Wragge & Co
Position: PA to senior partner
What’s the most boring thing you’ve been asked to do in your job?
Can’t think of anything specific but I don’t mind the occasional boring or mindless job – it gives my brain a rest.
How much time do you spend on Facebook each week?
As little as possible. Picking up the phone or getting on Skype is still much more fun.
What is the most unusual Christmas present that you have received from a colleague?
Nothing unusual or odd. All been very welcome and long may they keep coming.
If you could introduce one law, what would it be and why?
To automatically get the day off on your birthday.
How did you spend your last bonus? (If you have never received a bonus, how would you hope to spend it in the future)?
A big bonus and I’d take my annual leave in one hit and travel around the USA. A small bonus and it would be a new handbag.
What are the best perks of your role?
I enjoy the big picture view that comes with the role. The variety also means no two days are ever the same.
What do you wear on dress-down Fridays?
Same as the rest of the week – If I’m too chilled I won’t want to do any work.
Have you ever been asked to do anything at work that you suspect might have been illegal?
No, don’t think so… clearly completely oblivious to it if I was.
What is the most irritating habit of any person you’ve worked for?
Micromanagement – completely stifling.
How do you unwind after the end of a hard week?
A good movie and a large glass of wine.
Do you see your colleagues on weekends?
No – the weeks together are fun enough.
Have you ever fallen in love at work?
Yes, years ago - big mistake. Fortunately far enough back to have forgotten the details.
If you were a lawyer what would your practice area be and why?
I just couldn’t think of anything worse than being a lawyer to be honest…
What do you eat for lunch?
Varies but most often it’s a nuked jacket potato and melted cheese – simply perfect.
Is your salary (in thousands) greater than your age?
What items do you always carry around with you at work?
My entry pass, without which I couldn’t go anywhere - beyond my work floor anyway.
Of whom do you have photos on your desk?
I don’t have any – one of those sad people who prefers a very clear desk.
What’s your favourite local?
Not a regular down at the pub. I prefer my own sofa, the TV and a glass of wine for chilling out.
Soy Latte or Nescafe?
Neither. It’s tea for me, drunk in industrial quantities - as my colleagues will testify.
City break or weekend in the country?
Definitely a weekend in the country.
Sum up your firm, chambers or employer in three words.
Caring, energising, innovative.
