Former Linde general counsel Nick Deeming has resurfaced as group general counsel of auction house Christie’s after leaving the energy company last month.
Deeming will be based in London and report to CEO Edward Dolman. He will be responsible for the group’s legal and compliance functions worldwide, serving as a member of the group management board.
Dolman said: “His significant experience in complex transactions, contracts and M&A activities with large multinationals and in emerging markets will serve Christie’s well as we execute on our growth strategy.”
Deeming shocked the legal world when he resigned from his post at Linde last summer, months after leading a far-reaching legal services review which established Linde’s panel. Linde replaced Deeming with Christian Rau, formerly head of legal for Germany at Johnson & Johnson.
