Italian firm Chiomenti has boosted its Asian practice after signing a merger deal with Sino-Italian firm Birindelli & Associati, adding six new offices in Asia.
Birindelli & Associati was the first Italian firm to launch in China when founding partner Luca Birindelli opened an office in Beijing in 1987.
The firm grew and now has a presence in Beijing, Hanoi, Hong Kong, Pyongyang, Shanghai and Singapore. Chiomenti will take over the running of Birindelli's offices.
Chiomenti opened in Beijing in March last year and the tie-up with Birindelli will boost the firm's presence in Asia by 25 lawyers. Chiomenti partner Luigi Bendi, a veteran of the firm's international campaigns, will oversee the integration while Filippo Modulo will head up Chiomenti's China desk in Italy.
