China’s Jun He builds arbitration team with Jones Day hire

Beijing-based Jun He has hired yet another lawyer from an international firm with the arrival of Jones Day lawyer Christine Kang to become a litigation partner at the Chinese firm.

Kang’s appointment follows the joining of seasoned dispute resolution partner Chen Luming from Jones Day’s Shanghai office in August this year. 

Kang’s practice focuses on international commercial arbitration, alternative dispute resolution and  litigation. She has represented clients, including many Fortune 500 companies, in trade, licence, lease, joint venture, real estate, finance and IP disputes before major international arbitration institutions and before different levels of courts in China. She is also experienced in coordinating and advising Chinese companies on their litigation cases in the US.

Prior to joining Jun He, Kang worked as a senior associate in Jones Day’s Beijing office for three years after spending two years with DLA Piper. Between 1998 and 2005, she served as a case administrator at the Beijing headquarters of China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC).

Jun He currently has eight dedicated dispute resolution partners and is looking for further strengthen this practice.

In recent months, Jun He has appointed a number of other partners from international firms, including Li Xiaoyang from Kirkland & Ellis (6 December 2011) and Jasson Han from Weil Gotshal & Manges (12 October 2011).
