This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Clifford Chance chief operating officer David Childs is set to be crowned as managing partner of the world’s biggest law firm.
Paris managing partner Yves Wehrli, the only other serious contender for the post, emailed partners yesterday indicating his decision not to stand.
In an email sent to the partnership yesterday, Childs said: “I would like to extend my personal thanks to all partners who nominated me. I’m conscious of the fact that I am the only candidate to the post…[which] will not please all partners, because some of you wanted to see more than one name on the ballot paper.”
Childs will now spend two weeks meeting partners for Q&A sessions, after which a formal vote will be taken.
One CC partner said: "He was always going to get it. He's done a great job."
Childs will succeed current managing partner Peter Cornell at the beginning of the next financial year.
