Charles Russell opens in Cambridge

Charles Russell has today opened its Cambridge office, giving the City firm a dual presence in the both Oxford and Cambridge.

Charles Russell’s intentions to launch in Cambridge were revealed in The Lawyer (20 November, 2006) with the triple hire of Hewitsons employment partners Tim Tyndall, Nick Sawyer and Hilary Aldred.

The office will be headed by Charles Russell’s employment head David Green, and will also advise on corporate matters, while developing a not-for-profit practice.

The Cambridge office comes just 18 months after the firm’s Oxford office opened its doors, and gives the firm it’s fifth UK base, to go with its London, Guildford and Cheltenham offices.

The firm launched its first international office in Geneva, in January last year.

Charles Russell has also recruited several junior lawyers from local practices to support its launch.

Firm managing partner Grant Howell said: “Cambridge is a vibrant business centre ideally suited to our strengths, in the employment, corporate, technology and not-for-profit fields in particular.“
