The Lawyer Global Litigation Top 50 report is the only ranking of international law firms by litigation and arbitration revenue and is essential reading for anyone seeking to benchmark their litigation and dispute resolution practices...
This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Former New York governor George Pataki, who stepped down last year, has joined US firm Chadbourne & Parke.
Pataki brings with him to Chadbourne his chief of staff John Cahill. Both will serve as counsel at the firm and will concentrate on energy and environmental matters.
Serving three terms, Pataki was the state’s most senior politician from 1995 to 2006, and was serving during the attacks on the Twin Towers in 2001.
New York City’s mayor Rudy Giuliani also chose the law firm route post-office, joining what was Bracewell & Patterson in 2005 as a name partner in what became Bracewell & Giuliani. Giuliani has recently declared that he was “in to win” the 2008 US presidential elections.
In addition to his role as Pataki’s chief of staff, Cahill oversaw the rebuilding effort in Lower Manhattan following 9/11.
Said Chadbourne managing partner Charles O’Neill: “As governor of New York, George Pataki led the state for 12 years with great insight, integrity and intelligence and he will put those same attributes to work in his new role.”
Pataki and Cahill have worked in private practice before, both being former lawyers at New York firm Plunkett & Jaffe.
Pataki’s daughter Emily is also a lawyer, currently an associate at the New York office of White & Case.
