Cerrahoglu
Cerrahoglu was established in 1966 and is now one of the leading independent law firms in Turkey. The firm acts for both domestic and overseas clients and has expertise across the full range of practice areas, including corporate and mergers and acquisitions, litigation, domestic and international arbitration, competition law, banking and finance, labour law, tax, intellectual property and corporate governance.
Cerrahoglu entered the global legal market in the 1980s when increasing foreign capital investment in Turkey allowed to firm to act for overseas investors regarding local regulations and helping to benefit from available incentives.
In the early 2000s, the firm advised a multinational telecommunications group in relation to the collection of receivables worth billions of dollars from a well-known Turkish group. Success in the telecommunications sector continued, with the firm acting on the privatisation of Türk Telekom, one of the most successful privatisations ever undertaken in the central and eastern European region. Cerrahoglu also acted in the Erdemir and Tüpras privatisations.
In 2005, Cerrahoglu established its Tax Department to give clients tax and fiscal consultancy services.
