CCR&W boosts DC litigation

Clifford Chance Rogers & Wells is taking on a litigation counsel from Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy to boost its Washington DC office.

Fred Reinke is joining the firm's litigation and dispute resolution practice and specialises in complex commercial and international litigation.

Reinke says he has decided to move to the newly-merged firm because of its international reach, something he says is vital for his practice, which represents European companies in their US-based disputes.

He has already picked up some work advising European insurance giant Axa in the US.

Reinke says: "I moved because of the unique opportunities that this firm offers by having under one roof substantial presences in Europe, London and the US.

"The Washington office has been focusing on building up a litigation practice and works very closely with the prominent litigation practice in New York. Washington is becoming more and more of an important place for international litigation matters."

The firm has 100 lawyers in Washington, with nearly half of those doing litigation and anti-trust work.
