Clifford Chance has set up a risk management taskforce in response to the Andersen fallout
The move comes amid growing unease in the larger City law firms that the Andersen saga will have repercussions for all major professional services firms. Deputy chief operating officer Chris Perrin said: "There were bound to be lessons to learn from this." The group includes Perrin, Washington DC partner John Kettels and Frankfurt partner Thomas Gasteyer. Chris Andrews was also recruited earlier this year to bolster the firm's risk management function. Andrews is a former Clifford Chance litigator who has worked with Ernst & Young to develop its risk management processes. The group will look at areas including outside directorships for partners, training on different accounting standards worldwide and the non-legal businesses.
