Clifford Chance has continued its mobility strategy with the transfer of a senior associate from London to Hong Kong.
Last month (30 July) the firm's global managing partner David Childs told The Lawyer that, as part of a firmwide strategic review, everyone coming up to partnership will be expected to have undertaken a stint either in another office or with a client.
Alex Gordon, a senior associate in the London insurance group, is set to transfer to Hong Kong in October. This follows the transfer of London-based Latin America specialist adviser Ignacio Suarez Anzorena to Washington DC and London counsel Christian Leathley to New York (The Lawyer, 31 July).
The magic circle firm also sent London equity capital markets partner David Eatough to its fledgling Bucharest office (The Lawyer, 27 June).
Gordon, who began his career in the law as a barrister before joining Clifford Chance, has spent 10 years focusing on commercial litigation and advisory work, with a particular emphasis on the insurance industry.
Mark Shipman, head of the firm's Asia insurance group, said his addition demonstrates the firm's commitment to supporting its Asian insurance clients.
