Partner promotions at Clifford Chance have plummeted falling to 18 from 31 in the previous year.
Compared to 2003-03 when nine London lawyers reached equity, this year’s round of promotions show that in the UK just four have made partner. While in New York one attorney joined the partnership on the previous year’s two.
There was, however, better news for Washington where two lawyers made equity after no-one was admitted last year.
As opposed to last year, corporate dominated this year’s promotions with five lawyers being promoted while in finance four were elevated. The previous year 10 finance lawyers gained equity on eight in corporate.
