Clifford Chance has made up 30 new partners in a round of promotions covering 11 of the firm’s offices - the highest number at any UK firm so far this year.
The London office and the litigation department receive the bulk of the new partners, with 12 and eight promotions respectively. Two of the promotions in London are in the dispute resolution team.
There have also been a number of promotions in the finance team, which sees seven new partners. In the corporate and capital markets departments, four and five partners have been made up respectively.
The firm has promoted four partners in its New York office, including two litigators, one capital markets specialist and a tax, pensions and employment lawyer. Clifford Chance’s Asian network also benefits from the promotions, with three new partners in Hong Kong, one in Shanghai and one in Singapore.
The rest of the promotions are in Clifford Chance’s European offices, including Brussels, Paris, Prague, Frankfurt and Düsseldorf.
Managing partner Peter Cornell said the promotions represented Clifford Chance’s strong capabilities across all the firm’s practice areas.
