Henning Mennenöh, who will join Allen & Overy on 1 March, is an M&A lawyer with particular experience in international work. He has also been active in training and recruitment at Clifford Chance Pünder and will continue in a similar role at Allen & Overy.
Mennenöh says: "I like Allen & Overy's strategy, it's a more conservative strategy but my view is that in the long run it is better. Clifford Chance's strategy may work but I prefer a strategy which is slow and where you don't have the problems of integrating large firms which can sometimes be difficult."
Mennenöh joins Allen & Overy as an equity partner. Although he was nominated for equity at Clifford Chance, the merger with Pünder resulted in the decision being delayed.
