Allen & Overy is taking on a corporate finance partner from Clifford Chance as it continues its pan-European strategy of broadening its banking and finance practice.
Iñigo Gómez-Jordana, who has been a partner at Clifford Chance for the past six years, will become joint managing partner of Allen & Overy's Madrid office at the beginning of May.
Gómez-Jordana specialises in corporate finance and has handled equity and debt capital markets, securitisations and derivatives transactions. He acted on the securitisation of the Spanish Nuclear Moratorium debt, a number of IPOs and debt issues and as ISDA counsel on the Spanish law netting opinions.
Madrid managing partner Graham Donnell says: "We have a well-established banking practice doing high-profile acquisition finance and project finance work, but we want to expand our practice to include a broader range of corporate finance work."
