Clifford Chance has introduced a careers framework that outlines career development paths for business service staff.
The framework, which is accessible via the firm’s intranet, is designed to give staff information on the skills required for each role, as well as how the roles relate to each other.
Clifford Chance career development manager Sarah Thwaites said: “The intention is to give our managers and employees a better understanding of the career opportunities we have across the firm and across the different offices.
“We want to make it easier to understand the opportunities, training and development we offer to help people move through the organisation or grow and develop within their markets.”
The firm has identified a number of different role types, so that if, for example, a legal secretary wants to move into HR they can identify the skills required for that role and attend the relevant courses to attain them.
